ANUSHKA SHETTY AS PROSITUTE IN VEDAM TELUGU MOVIE
Top actresses shy away from playing the role of prostitutes or sex-workers on screen.
In Bollywood, several
actors like Kareena Kapoor (in Chameli), Rani Mukharjee (Laga Chunari Mein Daag),
Tabu (in the Telugu
film - Pandurangadu and in the Bollywood flick Chandini Bar) portrayed such characters.
Down south, our actresses hesitate to do such roles as they feel it would spoil their image.
But actresses in Tollywood too are coming out of their comfort zone and have
started experimenting. Anushka, the daring and
sexy actress, is doing such a role in Krish's Vedam. Although she is known for her
Sexy roles in various films, she had gone in for an image change with Arundhati.
As Amalapuram Saroja, a sex worker from Andhra, she is set to sizzle the screen.
The movie also has Allu Arjun and Manchu Manoj in the lead roles.
The film is being directed by the talented
Krish of Gamyam fame and is expected to hit the screens by June.
