Smash hit movie Dabangg’s producer Arbaaz Khan has sold the Tamil remake rights for a record price to Balaji Studios. Many of the heroes and filmmakers repeatedly approached Arbaaz Khan for the remake rights but producers Mohan Apparao and T Ramesh have emerged successful.

The previous films produced by Balaji Studios was Dhanush and Genelia starrer Uthamaputhiran, which clicked well in in A, B and C centers. The producers are yet to make an announcement regarding the cast and crew details of the movie.

Dabangg holds the record for highest grosser in Bollywood and stands second in the overall collections made by Indian films, after Endhiran. Salman Khan plays a corrupt cop and Sonakshi Sinha played his love interest.

Since Dabangg’s original version had Salman and Sonakshi in the lead, some of the top guns in Kollywood might be roped in for the cast in Tamil version. Watch out for the space for more updates on Dabangg’s Tamil remake.
