Much before making his debut directorial in Kollywood with Kamal Haasan’s ‘Unnai Pol Oruvan’, Chakri had a bonding connection with film industry. As a young boy, he shared screen space with Kamal Haasan in ‘Salangai Oli’ and later undertook a vivid training in screenwriting and filmmaking.

The film, which is to be produced by Wide Angle Creations in association with the Hinduja Group company IN Entertainment, was officially announced in November 2010. Filming is slated to commence by March end, with the film expected to release in late 2011.

Billa 2 is a forthcoming Tamil gangster-thriller film to be directed by Chakri Toleti. It is a prequel to the 2007 film Billa and would focus on how David, an ordinary man from the coastal regions of South Tamil Nadu, becomes Billa, a dreaded underworld don, with Ajith Kumar reprising the role of the titular character.The film, which is to be produced by Wide Angle Creations in association with the Hinduja Group company IN Entertainment, was officially announced in November 2010.
