Avan Ivan is an upcoming Tamil comedy film written and directed by Bala, who with this project directs his fifth feature film. The film will star Arya, Vishal Krishna, Janani Iyer, and Madhu Shalini in the lead roles.The film, produced by Kalpathi S. Agoram's AGS Entertainment, features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Arthur A. Wilson and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.It is currently in its filming stage and slated for a theatrical release in April 15 th 2011.

Avan Ivan's soundtrack is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and marks the second collaboration of him with Bala. The soundtrack is said to consist of 4 tracks.Deviating from his usual style of composing, the songs would have no Western musical elements such as synths and auto-tune,but only "pure ethnic Indian sounds".In August 2010, an intense pathos songs was recorded in the voice of Vijay Prakash,while the following month, he recorded live folk drums with 40 people.
