MANI RATNAM'S NEXT | VIJAY'S PROSPECTS IN PONNIYIN SELVAN

Mani Ratnam is keen on casting Vijay in Ponniyin Selvan, it is said. The director has firmed up the screenplay and dialogues which were written by Sujatha, Mani Ratnam and Jayamohan. Vijay is the top choice for the role and although he will sign Pagalavan and a film with ‘Kalavaani’ Sargunam, he will remain in Ponniyin Selvan.
Mani Ratnam is also looking for star power to rake in the collections since that is where he has lost in too many films. A project like Ponniyin Selvan which is made in such a budget as Rs. 200-250 crore will require such kind of star power as Mahesh Babu, Vijay, Vikram, Suriya or Vishal.
Vijay’s place is certain and the actor is reported to be reading the script during the breaks of Nanban in Dehradun. Hence, Vijay is a confirmed choice for Ponniyin Selvan although this decision might change at a later time under different circumstances but for now, Vijay is confirmed a berth in Madras Talkies and Sun Pictures.
