Tamil actor Murali (46) died today morning due to a cardiac failure.During mid 80’s and 90’s he shined as a hero from his debut Poovilangu. Murali, of Kannada origin has done over 100 films.
Murali made his debut with the critically acclaimed hit Poovilangu followed by another good film Pagal Nilavu.
According to sources, he was admitted to a hospital on the outskirts of Chennai after he developed sudden illness. He however breathed his last late night not responding to the treatment.
Murali, aged 46, complained of chest pain and was taken to the hospital immediately but he didn’t respond well to the treatment. His body was taken back to his Valsaravakkam residence and was kept there for public homage.
Murali started his acting career in 1984 with the film ‘Poovilangu’ though he made his debut in Kannada. He acted along side actors like Thespian Sivaji Ganesan, Vijayakanth, Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Mammootty, Prabhu Deva, and Parthiban.
Murali was noticed in the super hit movie ’Puthu Vasantham’ and earned laurels for his performance in ‘Idhayam’ with which he got immense popularity. Other movies that got him appreciation were ‘Thanga Manusukkaran’, ‘Alli Thanda Vanam’, ‘En Asai Machan’, ‘Poomani’, ‘Porkaalam’, ‘Sundara Travels’, etc.
Murali won the Tamil Nadu best actor award in 2001 for his performance in ‘Kadal Pookal’.
His last film was ‘Baana Kaathadi’, which is the maiden venture of his son Atharva. Murali is survived by his wife Shoba, sons Atharva and Vijay, and daughter Kavya Famous Tamil actor Murali died due to heart attack. Murali died today morning due to cardiac failure. Murali was admitted in Rama Chandra Hospital couple of days back due to a a massive heart attack, but unfortunately Murali died today morning at 7.30 am.
Murali is a popular actor in 1990?s and has done many films since his debut in Poovilangu and has done more than 100 films carving a niche for himself. Murali’s death is a huge loss to his family and Tamil film industry.
Recently, Murali’s son Adharva debuted as hero with Banna Kathadi, in which Murali played a cameo, but this film turned out to be his last film. Murali became a star with Puthu Vasantham followed by Idhayam, Thanga Manusukkaran, Ali Thanda Vanam, En Asai Machan, Poomani Desiya Geetham, etc. Murali won the Tamil Nadu best actor award in 2001 for his performance in Kadal Pookal.
Popular hero Murali passed away early this morning following a massive heart attack. The actor complained of chest pain last night and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai where his end came. Murali made his Tamil debut with Poo Vilangu and went on to give several smash hits including Idhayam and Pudhu Vasantham.
His son Atharva entered the filmdom very recently with Baana Kaathadi and has been receiving rave reviews for his performance in the film.

Murali was the son of famous Kannada film director Siddlingaiah, who had done hit movies like Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu and Bangarada Manusha. He started his acting career with the Tamil movie Poovilangu and later starred in Kannada films too. He acted in nearly 60 films.
His first film in Kannada was Prem Parva. Later he starred in Kannada films like Sambavami Yuge Yuge, Ajay Vijay and Prem Gange. The film Ajay was his superhit Kannada movie of the time. He is always remembered for the song ‘Hero Hero Naane Naane…’, which is very popular today also.
