SURIYA DOING 5 DIFFERENT CHARACTERS IN MAATRAN MOVIE

Suriya is one who has performed different roles including that of a ten year old boy. Since then, the actor has been looking for different roles and it all started since Nandha. Each film from that point of time showed enormous difference in his characterization.
Pithamagan unleashed his full potential to be exuberantly hilarious and what followed are films of sophisticated difference like “Ghajini”. Suriya has once again signed a film with cinematographer/director KV Anand who has just finished his Ko which is expected to release on February 25, 2011.
The announcement of the film Maattraan came at a time when Shankar’s ‘3 idiots’ remake in Tamil “Nanban” too would go back to Vijay from Suriya. The latter is not worried since the role in Maattraan is a meaty one. Yes, what is meaty about that is that Suriya plays a dual role in the film. Although he has in films like ‘Perazhagan’, this one will be most challenging and difficult.
Suriya will play a Siamese twins role in which he will appear with two heads in the same body. They will be conjoined by their body with the same hands and legs for both. This will be a very difficult role to play and will also be difficult to bring it on screen with a realistic feel, say sources.
The onus is on Suriya to carry the role on his shoulders while KV Anand will have to ensure that it looks right on screen without any errors. While the media has this to say, KV Anand has come out strongly denying the role of a conjoined Siamese twins played by Suriya but KV Anand also reveals that Suriya will play 5 roles in the film.
And each character will be a different one. He will start working on the script only after April since he is busy with the rerecording of Ko. This news and denial from KV Anand has gained sufficient attention from the Media and now the audience will be on the lookout for what role Suriya plays which will generate interest much before the beginning of the shoot. Looks like a good PR strategy which has already started working.
